THE POSITION

The Liquor Control Board is seeking a Liquor Store General Manager 3C who is ready to make a strong impact. This role gives you the chance to lead a lively Fine Wine & Good Spirits store and guide a dedicated team toward success. You will work in a supportive environment where your leadership skills can grow. This position offers an exciting opportunity to help shape a well-known retail location.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role oversees the daily operations of a Fine Wine & Good Spirits store and supports a strong customer experience. The position guides staff, maintains store standards, and supports sales efforts. You will be a key leader, overseeing day-to-day activities, developing a high-performing team, and implementing strategies to exceed sales targets while maintaining a top-tier store environment. As a Liquor Store General Manager 3C, you will perform the following duties:

  • Store Leadership: Guide store operations and support daily tasks that keep the business running smoothly
  • Team Development: Support staff through training, feedback, and clear communication
  • Customer Service: Assist customers and ensure they receive helpful and friendly service
  • Inventory Oversight: Monitor stock levels and maintain organized product displays
  • Sales Support: Promote sales efforts and help maintain a clean and welcoming store environment
  • Compliance Awareness: Follow laws and company policies related to alcohol sales

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours will vary, totaling 75 hours biweekly.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees may be negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Liquor Store General Manager 3B; or
  • Two years as a Liquor Store General Manager 3A; or
  • Three years as a Liquor Store General Manager 2B; or
  • Four years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 3 or a Liquor Store General Manager 2A; or
  • Seven years of supervisory retail sales work.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
