DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports planned activities that help residents maintain and improve their physical, social, and cognitive abilities. As a Therapeutic Activities Aide, you will perform the following duties:
- Activity Support: Assist in planning and conducting recreational and educational activities that support resident well-being
- Resident Assistance: Escort residents to programs, provide transportation when needed, and ensure safety during activities
- Program Participation: Lead or assist with group sessions such as games, crafts, outings, music, or exercise
- Volunteer Coordination: Support volunteers by giving clear guidance, reviewing safety practices, and helping them assist residents during activities
- Record Keeping: Document resident attendance, behavior, incidents, and progress for supervisors and care teams
- Supply Management: Maintain activity supplies, select needed materials, and prepare items for scheduled programs

- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will have Sunday and Monday off.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Six months of work experience providing care to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
