Overview
The Human Resources Coordinator supports the day-to-day human resources operations with primary focus on onboarding and offboarding, HR administration, compliance, and HR data management. This role is responsible for ensuring HR processes are consistent, compliant, and aligned with safeguarding standards. This role will manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate data, improve processes and contribute to professional experience for employees.
Responsibilities
Serve as a point of contact for HR inquiries, providing timely and professional support on HR policies, procedures, and workplace practices.
Initiate onboarding workflows. Conduct new hire orientations for Business Services in New York, including I-9 compliance.
- Coordinate employee separation process upon notification of resignation, termination, or retirement.
- Manage the exit interview process including completing the exit checklist, conducting exit interviews, and documenting employee feedback.
- Prepare HR reports, metrics, and documentation for internal, external and client audits. Ensure data governance standards are met and support audit readiness through accurate recordkeeping.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS system; ensure timely updates and data integrity, including but not limited to entering new hires, job changes, transfers, and terminations in the system.
- Assist in creating and maintaining job profiles, positions, and organizational structures in the HRIS System.
- Support HR projects related to process improvements, policy updates, and employee experience initiatives.
- Gain exposure to employee relations processes by assisting with documentation.
- Process invoices and expenses in Emburse System.
- Maintain the Firm's HR intranet page on MilbankNow.
- Other responsibilities as they are assigned from time to time, i.e., events.
- Act as backup support across HR functions as needed, building cross-functional capability.
Compensation The anticipated base salary range offered for this role will be between $60,000 to $80,000 and represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base compensation range. Actual base compensation will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, performance, qualifications, degrees, and location, as well as the needs of the firm.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of HR experience, preferably in a coordinator or generalist support role.
- Working knowledge of HR practices, compliance, and employment laws.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Workday HRIS.
- Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- HR Certification preferred, SHRM-CP, SPHR PHR.
