Description

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:



  1. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
  2. This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
  3. Assist with directing and coordinating cheese production operations; provide first-line supervision in compliance with company policies and applicable laws



  1. Train and supervise employees, including planning and assigning work, monitoring performance, and resolving employee concerns.
  2. Ensure employees are properly trained in equipment start-up, shutdown, Clean-in-Place (CIP), and troubleshooting procedures.
  3. Communicate daily production goals and ensure compliance with equipment operating and cleaning procedures to meet productivity and quality standards.
  4. Work jointly with maintenance to identify equipment issues to improve machine efficiency.
  5. Maintain housekeeping, organization, and sanitation of equipment and work areas.
  6. Ensure accurate documentation, recordkeeping, and completion of production reports.
  7. Manage competing demands and change approach or method to best fit the situation.
  8. Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  9. Monitor procedures and conditions to prevent product contamination and excessive waste; ensure internal specifications are met and maintained.
  10. Perform department inspections and document production deficiencies
  11. Communicate critical information during shift handoffs.
  12. Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.
  13. Ensure preventative maintenance and master sanitation tasks are completed and documented as assigned.
  14. Adhere to all Quality, Food Safety, GMP, and AMPI Safety Polices & Procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE



  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
  • Must be able to maintain a valid forklift operator license
