Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career-driven, and customer-focused team and is currently recruiting for a Processing Operator to join our team of manufacturing professionals at our potato chip manufacturing facility in Hanover, PA on Weekend Day Shift working Friday-Sunday 6:00AM-6:00PM.

As a Processing Operator, this candidate will be responsible for supporting potato processing and fryer operations by operating and monitoring peeler, slicer, fryer, and related production equipment to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing process. This role also supports sanitation, product quality inspections, inventory tasks, and cross-functional production needs throughout the processing department.

Responsibilities:



  • Fill in for all processing positions during employee absences, breaks, or staffing shortages while performing all duties associated with each role
  • Operate peeler and slicer systems to maintain a consistent supply of properly peeled and sliced potatoes for fryer operations
  • Inspect peeled potatoes and trim defects to ensure product quality standards are maintained
  • Complete daily and weekly sanitation procedures within the peeler and frying areas
  • Clean and inspect eyewash stations, high-pressure hoses, salt carts, fire extinguishers, kettle rotor tables, and other processing equipment
  • Empty trash and remove rocks/debris from the frying room as needed
  • Maintain and replenish operational supplies including slicer blades and holders, degreaser, TM70 barrels, chemical totes, boot cleaners, water coolers, sock filters, and rags
  • Perform weekly inventory counts and submit inventory logs to supervision
  • Safely operate a company vehicle to transport empty chemical totes between facilities
  • Report quality concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards to supervision promptly
  • Support food safety, GMP, and sanitation standards at all times
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and other departments
  • Follow all OSHA, safety, and company policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision


Requirements:




  • Previous manufacturing, food production, sanitation, warehouse, or machine operating experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment or process issues
  • Ability to safely operate machinery and follow lockout/tagout and safety procedures
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials throughout the shift
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and work in hot, wet, or cold environments for extended periods
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and product quality
  • Ability to complete written logs, inventory counts, and basic documentation
  • Must be dependable, flexible, and willing to rotate between duties as needed
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
