THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports daily food preparation, tray assembly, sanitation, and supply tasks across multiple food service areas. You will rotate through different responsibilities to help ensure meals are prepared safely and delivered accurately. As a Food Service Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare simple menu items such as salads, sandwiches, beverages, and nourishments
  • Tray Assembly: Assemble meal trays using portion control guidelines and verify accuracy for each patient
  • Sanitation Tasks: Operate dishwashing equipment and clean work areas to maintain sanitation standards
  • Area Support: Perform housekeeping tasks such as cleaning floors, tables, chairs, and equipment
  • Supply Stocking: Unload and store food and non-food items following proper storage methods
  • Dietary Coordination: Use patient census information to assemble snacks, supplements, and packed lunches

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, on a rotating schedule with every third weekend off, and a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
