DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, responsible for the provision and documentation of medications and medication-related services to patients, according to standards established by the Department of Pharmacy. Serve as preceptor to pharmacy residents and students as assigned. Participate in Medical Center and Departmental committees and promote institution-wide medication use policy. Successful candidates would have extensive experience in community pharmacy practice and have a basic understanding of specialty pharmacy medications. Clinical knowledge and the ability to counsel patients on complex drug regimens is a standard practice in this role.

Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at level PHARMACIST 1 PD or PHARMACIST 2 PD.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy degree or equivalent clinical experience.

  • Registered Pharmacist - issued by the state of California (RPH).

  • Pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience.

  • Level II: Incumbents can meet the minimum experience qualifications for this position in 1 of 3 ways: 1) possesses a PGY2 or 2) possesses a PGY1 plus 1 year of pharmacist experience, or 3) possesses 4 years of pharmacist experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $186,855 - $186,855 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $89.49 - $89.49

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
