Job Duties Ability to lift a maximum 50 pounds unassisted and a minimum of 50 pounds with team lift or equipment. Scheduled Days: Monday-Thursday: 1900-2300; Friday 2000-0030. Hours are subject to change based on operational needs. Start and End times may change plus or minus 2 hours. This position requires an F Endorsement for Tennessee residents, DOT drug screen and DOT medical examination. This position requires completion and passing of the following training: Dangerous Goods Specialist/Spill Clean Up: 1 week of out-of-town training at a FedEx location Defensive Driving Ramp Basics/GSE/757: 1 week of in town training at CHAR Ramp This position is subject to additional training based on operational needs. Disclaimer: Any questions should be directed towards the hiring manager: Joel Leigh Minimum Education High School Diploma/GED Minimum Experience Six (6) months of related station, ramp, hub or safety experience preferred. Experience with computer, i.e., mainframe, pc, internet/intranet preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Related knowledge of shipping or processing dangerous goods packages strongly preferred. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Ability to complete all basic and re-currency training for dangerous goods. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance. Job Conditions Must be able to read and understand manuals, regulations, charts and tables, and effectively communicate verbally in a time-sensitive manner in a noisy operations environment. Current DG certification preferred. If required to drive company vehicles or motorized conveyances as a regular part of job, must possess valid driver's license. If required to perform the spill clean-up function, must complete all basic and re-currency training for spill clean-up. Non-covered safety sensitive position. Medical exam required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
