SUMMARY Responsible for handling high exposure professional liability and litigated claims, as well as commercial injury and non-injury general liability, in accordance with client, carrier and company guidelines, statutory regulations and best practices. Primary duties include investigating, evaluating, reporting to authorities as applicable, and maintaining adequate reserves. Manages claims through well-developed action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains diary system to ensure claim files are up to date, and that required follow-up is taking place; Investigates and evaluates claims to determine liability and compensability; Communicates with vendors, producers, policy holders, clients and insurance companies to communicate claim status; Negotiates settlements with claimants and insureds; Reports to authorities as applicable, providing updates on litigated claims, serious injuries, and claims over the adjuster's authorization limits; Sets and manages reserve accounts, and ensures that adequate levels are maintained; Analyzes and reviews invoices for payment; Provides producer inquiry assistance; Provides set-up of rental vehicles for clients as needed; Creates and maintains reports and worksheets as needed; Provides training and mentoring to less experienced adjusters; Travels as necessary to attend appeal hearings, trials, and perform on-site investigations; May act as backup for Supervisor on an as needed basis; Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information); Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience Responsible for attending continuing education as Seven (7) or more years experience in liability claims processing SKILLS Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone and listening skills Excellent customer service skills Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills Strong organizational and time management skills Discretion and independent judgment required Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Word, Outlook We are proud to provide comprehensive, high quality employee programs to meet employees' needs now and in the future, including a very competitive financial package.
