Your responsibilities
Job Summary Provide programming support to the production floor. Ensure that all products being run on a CNC machine have the necessary program and that it is accurate. Perform duties in a safe and reliable manner. Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Writing new program code, testing, and optimizing CNC programs for complex parts by reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, and prescribed specifications.
  • Update, repair, modify, and expand existing programs to enhance efficiency or to adapt to new production requirements
  • Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs such as whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part.
  • Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies by collaborating with supervisors and machinists to troubleshoot and improve program and production processes
  • Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs.
  • Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
  • Develop and maintain tooling and equipment inventory list.
  • Ensure programs have the appropriate tooling lists, process plans, and appropriate job aids for efficient and safe processing.
  • Setting up CNC machines, including loading raw materials and running programs, conducting test runs to ensure a successful operation and conformance to customers specifications and prints
  • Other tasks as needed by management.
  • Assist in any shop floor planning activities
  • Keep assigned areas clean
  • Assist in activities related to quality and lean, when requested.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years related experience.
  • Proven work experience as a CNC Programmer
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming and machine operation
  • Skilled in the use of measurement tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers)
  • A eye for detail and precision
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Preferred Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent.

5+ years of experience.

* Must be proficient in programming language, such as COBOL and Prolog.

* Advanced object-oriented languages, such as Java, C++, or ACTOR.
