Digital Technician, Surgical

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, managing cases for Vulcan Custom Dental and both laboratory and clinical customers. This position shall be responsible for processing daily orders to customer specifications, including but not limited to participation with products and process validations. Secondary activities will include customer support as relates to dental surgical guides, and various dental surgical treatment planning software. Also supports other digital dentistry manufacturing initiatives as established with supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Scan cases for implant planning.
  • Perform CAD design of surgical prostheses per customer specifications.
  • Completes all work in accordance with Vulcan's Quality Manual.
  • Ensures established turnaround times for product are achieved.
  • Provides customer support as it relates to surgical guides and guided cases.
  • Coordinates cases with customers as they are received through Customer Care, processed through various software, and distributed physically throughout Vulcan.
  • Coordinates and communicates with vendors about implant planning requirements and as needed.
  • Facilitate the purchasing and or design of additional guided restorative products as needed.
  • Provides support and training to Vulcan customers, partner companies, and online.
  • Participates in CAD production-related qualifications including Installation, Operation, and Process Validations.
  • Works with outside suppliers as needed.
  • Investigates and addresses customer complaints as needed.
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Required.
  • Experience designing crowns, copings, bridges, models and abutments in 3Shape, Exocad, Dental Wings or equivalent software desired.
  • Know and understand tooth morphology desired.
  • Experience with IOS scans and importing files from various scanner software platforms desired.
  • Experience with CBCT scans and exporting files from various CT scanner software platforms desired
  • Must be comfortable in production environment where production quotas are mandated.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school Diploma Required
  • Dental Lab/medical device experience preferred
  • Dental Laboratory background within implant dentistry preferred.
  • Knowledge of 3Shape, Exocad, and Dental Wings (DWOS) software usage preferred.
