Vaco has an excellent opportunity for a Sales Director with Consumer Product industry experience. This is a direct hire role, 100% onsite, with up to 20% travel.

POSITION SUMMARY
Provide strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and team oversight to strengthen brand presence, drive profitable growth, and support organizational objectives within a national retail sales channel. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute account strategies focused on expanding distribution, strengthening existing partnerships, and enhancing overall market performance. Lead and develop a high-performing sales team while fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and execute sales strategies and growth initiatives for assigned retail channels, aligning with overall business objectives and market opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer contacts while supporting negotiations, agreements, and ongoing business partnerships.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team responsible for managing national and regional retail accounts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Support, and Operations to improve processes, launch products, and support overall business initiatives.
  • Analyze market trends, sales performance, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and recommend strategic adjustments.
  • Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and expense management to ensure profitability goals and financial targets are achieved.
  • Guide the development of presentations, promotional initiatives, merchandising strategies, and business reviews for customers and internal leadership.
  • Support ongoing process improvement initiatives related to logistics, compliance, customer programs, and operational efficiencies.
  • Participate in customer meetings, industry events, and trade-related activities as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for business expansion, new customer development, and channel growth.
  • Promote employee development by providing coaching, feedback, training, and performance management support.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Approximately 8-10+ years of related sales leadership experience within a consumer products, retail, manufacturing, or similar environment.
  • Proven experience managing teams, driving business growth, and supporting large customer relationships.

  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development abilities.
  • Experience working collaboratively across multiple departments and business functions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Financial and business acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis.
  • Ability to think strategically while also supporting day-to-day operational execution.
  • Positive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented leadership style.
  • Comfortable presenting to leadership teams, customers, and external partners.
