Role Overview Join a collaborative mortgage operations team focused on accuracy, compliance, and timely document processing. In this role, you'll review and correct loan documents, support audits, and help ensure files meet regulatory and company standards. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone with financial or mortgage exposure who enjoys detailed work and improving processes. What You'll Be Doing * Review loan documents for errors and make corrections to meet compliance standards * Audit files and update documentation based on findings * Upload, organize, and log files into document management systems * Monitor incoming work to spot trends and prevent recurring issues * Respond to requests for loan files, document reviews, and supporting materials * Communicate any issues that impact document completion or deadlines * Process requests for original and copied documents using workflow tools * Suggest improvements to workflows, procedures, or automation Pay, Schedule & Logistics * Pay: $22/hour * Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM * Work Setting: Hybrid (at least 3 days onsite; most commonly Monday, Wednesday, Friday) * Location: San Diego, CA * Duration: 3-month contract with potential to convert to full-time * Training: Remote onboarding What Success Looks Like * Accurate, compliant loan files with minimal rework * Strong organization across multiple tasks and deadlines * Clear, timely communication with teammates and stakeholders * Ability to identify patterns and suggest process improvements * Consistent follow-through in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment Requirements ** Must-Have* * Experience in finance, banking, or mortgage-related work * Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document handling * Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks * Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and document systems * Clear written and verbal communication skills * Ability to quickly learn systems and processes ** Nice-to-Have* * Mortgage or loan processing experience * Familiarity with TRID or loan compliance requirements * Experience with document audits or file reviews * Exposure to workflow or document management systems Who Will Thrive * Detail-oriented professionals who take pride in accuracy * Quick learners who adapt well to new systems and tasks * Team players who communicate clearly and proactively * Candidates who enjoy improving processes and spotting inefficiencies * Reliable individuals who can stay organized in a steady workflow environment Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
