We are seeking a strategic and inspiring Vice President, Therapeutic Strategy Leader (Oncology/Hematology) to drive global medical and scientific leadership within one of our most critical therapeutic areas.

What You'll Do

As a member of the leadership team, you will shape and execute global oncology/hematology strategy, influencing both scientific direction and business growth. You will partner across functions and with clients to deliver high-impact solutions and advance complex drug development programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead global therapeutic strategy for Oncology/Hematology aligned with Fortrea's vision and commercial objectives
  • Contribute to enterprise-wide strategy, business planning, and development of medical, safety, and therapeutic policies
  • Serve as Executive Sponsor for process excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across Medical & Scientific functions
  • Oversee MedSci project portfolio delivery, ensuring quality, compliance, and governance standards
  • Drive business development to support growth across therapeutic areas and services
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with clients, investigators, key opinion leaders, and strategic partners
  • Identify and execute opportunities for integrated development across business units (e.g., biomarkers, biosimilars, advanced therapies, health economics)
  • Represent Fortrea externally through publications, industry presentations, and participation in scientific forums
  • Partner with Business Development and Marketing to shape technical strategy, differentiate capabilities, and identify new opportunities
  • Lead development and expansion of KOL, investigator, and consultant networks
  • Contribute to proposals, bid defenses, and client strategy; ensure high-quality medical/scientific input across opportunities
  • Provide clinical and scientific leadership in due diligence and in-licensing/acquisition activities
  • Translate enterprise strategy into clear vision and direction for therapeutic area teams
  • All other duties as needed or assigned

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing global medical teams
  • Drive talent strategy, including hiring, development, and succession planning
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and scientific excellence
  • Oversee performance management, resource allocation, and team effectiveness

Clinical & Scientific Leadership

  • Provide medical and scientific expertise across clinical development programs
  • Support protocol design, safety monitoring, and study execution as needed (up to ~20% project involvement)
  • Ensure robust delivery of medical/scientific contributions across projects
  • Guide training initiatives and knowledge development within Oncology/Hematology

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • MD (or equivalent) with residency training and clinical specialization in Oncology/Hematology
  • Extensive experience in global drug development (typically 15+ years across pharma, biotech, or CRO)
  • Deep expertise in Oncology/Hematology clinical research
  • Proven leadership at a strategic and organizational level
  • Strong track record in client engagement, business growth, and cross-functional leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialty fellowship and/or clinical practice experience
  • Experience leading at a portfolio level across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Recognized industry thought leader with strong external presence

Pay Range:USD $375,000-$440,000

Benefits:All job offers will bebased on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicabledegrees/certifications,as well as internal equity and market data.Regular,full-timeor part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(K), Paid time off (PTO) or Flexible time off (FTO), Company bonus where applicable.
