Summary

This is a full time 9-month annual position involving clinical practicum supervision and academic teaching in the Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) Program. The CSD program offers a B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders, an M.S. in Speech Language Pathology, and an undergraduate minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have teaching responsibilities in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Course assignments may include both face to face and online instruction. Clinical practicum supervision includes both on campus and off sites at various Chicagoland locations. Faculty members are expected to show excellence in teaching and student learning and provide service to the department. Service activities include participation on faculty committees and faculty meetings and the clinical and/or academic advising of students in the program.


Qualifications

  • Master of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology from ASHA-accredited program
  • Current Illinois State Licensure in CCC-SLP
  • CPR Certification (BLS + AED)
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in clinical service delivery after completion of the Clinical Fellowship
  • Recent speech language pathology practice in pediatrics
  • Completion of professional development in the area of clinical supervision
  • Understanding of the scope and challenges of the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Teaching experience and/or supervision of students in higher education desired, but not required
  • Experience with student academic advising and/or mentoring is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Enthusiasm toward serving a diverse student and client population
