| Position Summary |
The Division of Oncology at the
UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for an individual to join our gastrointestinal program. The successful candidate for this faculty position in the Division of Oncology will have clinical expertise and research experience in gastrointestinal medical oncology and clinical/translational research.
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill offers an exceptionally collaborative environment with very strong clinical programs in oncology and basic science researchers in GI cancers. The GI solid tumor program has been a highly successful program for decades, with an exceptional track record in clinical care as well as health outcomes and clinical research with a robust clinical trials program. This program is supported by a team of professionals, including study coordinators, data coordinators and program managers. The GI oncology clinical team is also comprised of surgical and radiation oncologists as well as interventional radiologists and advanced endoscopists. Opportunities for the position and qualified applicants include but are not limited to Cancer Center leadership of GI Cancer Clinical Trials effort and co-leadership of the
UNC Lineberger Pancreatic Cancer Center of Excellence.
As this is an open rank posting, the candidate hired into this position could be hired into a fixed term, variable track or tenure track faculty appointment. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
MD or DO required. The candidate must be board eligible or board certified in Medical Oncology. |
| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
The successful candidate for this open rank faculty position in the Division of Oncology will have clinical expertise and research experience. Qualified candidates will possess broad medical knowledge and demonstrate excellence in medical practice. Essential skills for this position include effective interprofessional collaboration and teamwork, and excellent clinical communication skills relevant to serious illness care. Candidates should have experience in clinical trials and have a translational research interest in GI cancers. |
