Overview

The Project Specialist III is responsible for the direct coordination of medium Utility projects. Responsible for partnering with project managers and project staff to get projects into construction and to ensure accurate and complete documentation for the projects.



Responsibilities

    Maintains project logs and records to include critical action item list, etc.
  • Creates and maintains filing systems for all documentation.
  • Regularly audits project files to ensure compliance. Tracks document revisions and distribution.
  • Monitors the engineering and design efforts of the project team.
  • Coordinates disciplines in resolving issues in a timely fashion that supports the project schedule.
  • Applies knowledge and skills toward the resolution of problems and the development of sound recommendations.
  • Tracks the expediting of designs, materials and permits to help ensure projects get into construction on schedule.
  • Assist with project meetings, drafting of agendas, record meetings minutes, track action items and assist to ensure completion of tasks.
  • Verifies project and organizational deliverables.
  • Monitors budget, cost tracking, and labor hours, tracking procurement of goods and services, validation and reconciliation of invoices and payments.
  • Assisting with developing presentations, maintaining project documentation.


Qualifications

  • BS degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Business, or related; equivalent experience with customer approval.
  • 3-5+ years' experience providing direct project coordination support and/or scheduling support to Program or Project Managers on electrical, civil, and/or gas Programs/Projects.
  • Scheduling, Project Management, or other related certifications, training, or demonstrated experience.
  • Adept at MS Project, Primavera (P6), Smartsheet, Procore, and/or equivalent project management planning tools.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with customers, construction contractors, land/survey, field construction advisors, internal support team, and others to ensure all parties are up to date on the project schedule.
  • Ability to provide the highest levels of customer service to our project owners/customers.
  • Strong attention to detail; ensuring data accuracy, timely data updates, and communicating necessary updates to required parties.
  • Experience with managing/scheduling multiple projects at once, while simultaneously handling additional responsibilities.

Wage Data Per State Requirements

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
