Job Purpose

The Lead Program Manager is a team member of New York Regulatory Operations under Regulation & Pricing within the New York Jurisdiction. The Lead Program Manager's focus will be on project management of large rate cases and other regulatory matters and reporting.

The individual will also be involved in regulatory stakeholder engagement and change management activities. A successful candidate must have strong business acumen, excellent communications skills, be highly organized and have an understanding/training in lean tools. Utility experience is desirable. Candidate will enjoy working in a fast- paced organization with opportunities to engage with leaders across National Grid's Electric, Gas, Customer, Finance, IT, Operations Support and Regulatory functions as well as with our New York regulators and regulatory stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage projects within Regulation, touching on all functions of business, to ensure project plans are developed, milestones identified, deliverables met, deadlines met, issues with completing a project timeline are identified early for remediation, and communication to the appropriate project leads is timely.
  • Delivery of major regulatory/rate filings and discovery on time, meeting quality standards, as assigned.
  • Ensure effective and efficient operations of the processes and systems used internally.
  • Conduct regulatory stakeholder engagement activities as assigned.
  • Challenge existing processes and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies for the business.
  • Support and participate in Continuous Improvement deployment efforts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, MBA (achieved or in progress) is a plus.
  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to network internally and externally and to develop successful, long-lasting business partnerships.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • 2 - 4 years of Project Management experience is required.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience and ability to develop effective messaging for targeted regulatory audiences.
  • Experience in regulated or energy markets arena; utility experience preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Visio, lean and project management tools, e.g. Microsoft Project Management preferred.

Salary:
Upstate NY - $119,000 - $139,000 per year

Downstate NY - $142,000 - $167,000 per year
