Make your mark for patients

We are looking for a Mechanical Project Manager / SME Lead who is technically strong, collaborative, and results-driven to join our Engineering & Capital Projects team, based in our Atlanta, GA Headquarters.

About the role

You will serve as a technical leader and project execution authority responsible for delivering complex capital projects and ensuring the performance, reliability, and compliance of mechanical systems within regulated environments. You will combine deep mechanical engineering expertise with strong project management to support design, construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations.

Who you'll work with

You will work in a cross-functional environment partnering with engineering, operations, quality, maintenance, and external vendors. You will lead collaboration across internal teams and contractors to safely deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining strong regulatory and quality standards.

What you'll do

  • Lead full lifecycle capital projects from concept through commissioning and closeout
  • Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and resource planning
  • Provide SME guidance for HVAC, utilities, and mechanical systems design
  • Oversee construction, installation, and field execution activities
  • Lead commissioning, qualification, and validation activities including FAT and SAT
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or equipment vendor environments
  • Strong experience managing capital projects and mechanical systems
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar)
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive project delivery
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC, boilers, or process utilities

Preferred requirements

  • Experience in cGMP or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems such as SAP or Maximo
  • Strong background in maintenance, reliability, and asset performance improvement
  • Experience supporting commissioning, qualification, and validation activities
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
