Overview:


The Shared Services Accounting Intern will support the Shared Services Finance team in day-to-day accounting operations for Omni Hotels & Resorts. This role is designed for a recent graduate or current student seeking hands-on experience in corporate accounting, exposure to hospitality finance operations, and an introduction to shared services functions.


Responsibilities:



  • Shadow members of the Shared Services Department to learn day-to-day responsibilities and processes
  • Provide day-to-day support to properties as it relates to the administration, communication, and coordination of outsourced shared services functions, including Accounts Payable, Income Audit, Contract Management, and Commission areas
  • Assist with the day-to-day coordination of the outsourced partner and help identify and escalate issues as needed
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and entries for assigned hotel properties
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, investigations, and reconcile items
  • Gain exposure to Accounts Payable, Income Audit, Contract Management, Commission, and OTA Audits/Virtual Credit Card functional areas, and support the team as needed
  • Assist with regular analysis to help ensure efficient processing
  • Support company projects to ensure successful development and implementation
  • Assist with the creation of training materials and support property education on best practices
  • Support efforts to integrate and streamline systems related to SSC processes
  • Assist in maintaining documentation, controls, and process narratives for areas of responsibility
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications:



  • Recent graduate or currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles (coursework or internship experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with the ability to take direction and ask questions
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
