Machine Shop Technician - 1st shift

With direct guidance in a team environment, responsible for operating one or more production machines working from blueprints, sketches and route sheets.

Essential Functions:

* Perform repetitive machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, reaming and smoothing parts

* Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures where established methods are followed

* Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged machine surface

* Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks cracks or other irregularities from machined parts

* Inspect parts for conformance to specifications by visual examination and the use of gauges or other measuring instruments

* Accurately and regularly perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements

* Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations while maintaining a clean work area in orderly condition

* Read analog / digital MICS / COMPAIRTORS / PROFILOMETER

* Strong lathe background preferred

* Perform other related responsibilities

Qualifications:

* HS Diploma or equivalent

* Must have manual machining experience

* Minimum 1-2 years general or related machine shop experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities

* Must demonstrate manual dexterity

* Must be able to read and understand blueprints

* Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics

* Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

* Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player
