The mission of the Tuition Assistance (TA) Specialist is to assist Active Duty Military members in returning to post-secondary education. Responsibilities include providing information on all Tuition Assistance programs and procedures, as well as other Title IV educational funding; submitting invoices to the military for payment, reporting final grades to the military, and other duties as assigned. The position includes providing service to military and veteran students in accordance with all policies, procedures, regulations and best practices for serving military and veteran students.

Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Continuously reviewing and logging Military Tuition Assistance vouchers into student information system (CampusVue). This consists of receiving TA vouchers by email and reviewing the TA vouchers for any errors that may need to be addressed by the student, related to course, dates, number of credits, and course cost. The employee would then save the TA voucher in a shared drive and then logging the TA voucher in CampusVue.

  • TA rep will review and submit invoices on a weekly basis to the branch that approved the students Military Tuition Assistance. At times, TA rep may need to communicate by phone or email with the students Education Service Office or the military branch finance team to assist in finance questions that pertain to invoicing process.

  • TA rep will review student files for grades that may have been loaded into CampusVue and then submit those grades through the correct military branch portal. This also includes correcting already submitted grades in the event the students grades were updated.

  • Advising students/staff, and Education Service Offices via phone and email on the process of Military Tuition Assistance. The TA rep will apply knowledge and understanding of individual customer accounts to efficiently and effectively handle account balance inquiries, resolve account problems, billing disputes, misapplied payments and other issues as needed to provide quality customer service.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint applications.

  • Proficient skills in database contact management applications and contact management strategies.

  • Knowledge of Tuition Assistance programs, financial aid programs and regulations.

  • Excellent customer service skills-Verbal communication, phone skills, listening, informing, and customer focus.

  • Ability to follow University policies and procedures with good independent judgment.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.

  • 1 year of relevant work experience is required.

Rate of Pay: $20.33-$25.41
