Material Planner

The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted supply of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) materials to support manufacturing operations at PPG Aerospace. This role serves as the primary point of contact for the on-site third-party provider managing consumables, driving daily execution, accountability, and performance. This is a fully onsite position in Huntsville, Alabama.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day relationship and performance of the on-site third-party MRO provider

• Ensure replenishment and availability of consumables and indirect materials to support production

• Drive accountability with suppliers and third-party partners to meet service level expectations (delivery, inventory accuracy, fill rates)

• Monitor inventory levels, usage trends, and demand signals to prevent shortages or excess

• Identify and escalate supply risks proactively; lead mitigation efforts to avoid production disruptions

• Partner with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to understand material needs and priorities

• Analyze MRO spend and consumption to identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities

• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management, supplier performance, and replenishment processes

• Maintain accurate system data (ERP/MRP) including item masters, lead times, and planning parameters

• Lead regular performance reviews with third-party provider and key suppliers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field

• 3+ years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or planning within a manufacturing environment

• Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and inventory management principles
