Job Description

Position Summary:
The Director of Finance for the Missiles Division is the primary finance partner to the Missiles GM and Programs leadership, responsible for driving forecasting, reporting, program margin management, and disciplined execution to plan. This leader oversees a small team that includes Operations Finance and Program Analytics, ensuring strong linkage between program performance, operational drivers, and the division P&L. The role also supports M&A and strategic initiatives led by VP Finance.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership in financial planning and analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and a desire to advance to VP of Finance or CFO roles.

People Leader Talent Expectations

This role is expected to build and lead a high-performing team by:

This role is expected to lead with EBOS discipline by:

  • Driving a consistent operating cadence with clear accountability
  • Using data, visual management, and problem solving to close gaps
  • Leading and sustaining continuous improvement that delivers measurable results

Strategic financial leadership

  • Own the Missiles Division financial planning, forecasting, and analysis across Programs, Operations, BD, and Strategy.
  • Deliver clear insights and recommendations to the GM and leadership team to drive profitable growth, margin expansion, and disciplined execution.
  • Establish operating rhythm for financial reviews and performance management, ensuring leaders know what matters, why it matters, and what actions are required.

Program and margin management

  • Lead program financial performance governance, including margin reporting and risk and opportunity management.
  • Oversee review of program cost estimates and EACs in partnership with Program teams and Program Analyst, ensuring consistency, rigor, and early issue escalation.

Operations finance leadership

  • Lead Operations Finance to connect operational drivers to financial outcomes (productivity, yields, scrap, absorption, mix, inventory health, and cost-to-serve).
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain leaders to drive data-backed decisions on cost, cash, and throughput with clear accountability.

M&A and strategy support

  • Support the VP Finance on M&A activities including modeling, diligence, and integration, while protecting the operating cadence of the Missiles Division.

Career Path

  • Demonstrate ambition and capability to progress to VP of Finance and/or CFO roles.
  • Willingness to relocate to Denver for future CFO opportunities - preferred

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • 10+ years progressive finance experience including FP&A, project accounting, and business partnering; Aerospace and defense or project-based manufacturing preferred (construction or similar acceptable)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of developing talent and raising performance expectations
