Position Title: Regional Market Executive and President of Raleigh-Durham Region

Business Unit: Commercial Banking

Reports to: EVP of Commercial Banking for the Carolinas

Position Overview:

This position is primarily responsible for supervising and administering the commercial banking function in the Raleigh-Durham region. The incumbent recruits, motivates, mentors and coaches employees to generate new and maintain existing relationships. The incumbent manages and directs the region to meet its primary objectives, goals and the Strategic Planning process including the development of internal performance objectives for business unit production including deposits, loan growth, fee income, cross-selling, and credit quality.

Primary Responsibilities:

Organizes and provides leadership to regional management by conducting monthly cross-functional meetings, quarterly product review meetings and assembling and chairing Community Board meetings for the region's market ensuring collaboration among all functions within the region and across the organization.

Oversees all regional executive functions and related policies and procedures. Establishes the current and long-range objectives and strategies of the region. Oversees performance of the region through comparison of results compared to goals and ensures that measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.

Dispenses advice and supervisory guidance in setting goals and objectives, monitors and recommends adjustments in direction as needed and evaluates the performance of direct reports. Recommends add to staff changes and approves transfers, terminations and evaluations.

Controls marketing, personnel, operations and lending functions of the region within established policies and procedures.

Assigns strategic tasks to members of senior management, monitors and evaluates progress and adjusts as needed.

Responsible for overall financial productivity and return on shareholder investment for the region.

Coordinates and implements a customer service and relationship building program that trains commercial staff to develop a complete financial relationship with the customer.

Provides regular reports and objective updates quarterly. Conducts and participates in meetings or on committees as needed. Works collaboratively with the Executive Vice President of Commercial Banking to form strategic plans for the corporation's commercial banking business line.

Ensures region function in compliance with directives set forth by Bank policy, Regulators, External Auditors and the Board of Directors.

Sustains relevant relationships with the business and professional community to enhance business opportunities and promote a positive Bank image.

Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.

Experience in a senior management capacity in a financial services industry with sales and service environment. Superior commercial credit knowledge and experience and a working knowledge of financial and capital markets.
