Executive Benefits Analyst - Nonqualified Deferred Compensation (NQDC) / 409A Plan Administration

Join Aon's Executive Benefits team and play a key role in the administration and ongoing management of nonqualified deferred compensation and supplemental benefit plans for corporate clients.

This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work virtually and from our Atlanta, GA office.

What the day will look like

This role is responsible for end-to-end administration and client relationship management for nonqualified deferred compensation and executive benefit programs. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical knowledge, client service excellence, and strong problem-solving skills to support both plan sponsors and participants.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, building strong, trusted relationships with plan sponsors and internal stakeholders
  • Oversee ongoing administration of nonqualified deferred compensation and supplemental benefit plans
  • Manage and execute annual enrollment processes, including communications and participant outreach
  • Provide participant-level support, including handling complex inquiries related to plan provisions, distributions, and account activity
  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting to plan sponsors, ensuring alignment with plan provisions and client expectations
  • Partner with clients on plan design considerations, operational improvements, and issue resolution
  • Identify and proactively address administrative issues, escalating and coordinating solutions as needed
  • Evaluate processes and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and client experience
  • Ensure compliance with plan documents, internal procedures, and applicable regulations
How this opportunity is different

Aon's Executive Benefits practice has supported corporate clients for decades in designing and administering executive benefit programs, including deferred compensation, COLI/BOLI structures, and supplemental disability plans. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-visibility programs while developing deep expertise in a specialized area of benefits.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • 3-7+ years of experience in nonqualified deferred compensation, executive benefits, or complex retirement/benefits administration
  • Demonstrated experience in a client-facing role with direct accountability for service delivery
  • Strong understanding of plan administration, participant transactions, and reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously
  • Advanced communication skills, with the ability to translate complex plan provisions into clear, actionable information
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving capabilities
Preferred:
  • Experience working with NQDC platforms, recordkeepers, or executive benefits consulting firms
  • Knowledge of 409A, distribution events, and executive compensation structures
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (data analysis, reporting)
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $75,000 - $90,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
