The impact you'll make

TheEngineering Technicianposition within Mechatronics Engineering is part of the centralized Global Product Engineering Group. Lam Mechatronics Engineering has a proventrack recordof rapid innovation in semiconductor equipment automation including VORTEX wafer handling robots, process chamber mechanisms, and Lam Equipment Intelligence smart devices. As anEngineering Technicianwithin Mechatronics, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact across multiple Lam product groups.You play a crucial role in the assembly, modification,testand troubleshooting of complex robotic systems.Your commitment to precision and problem-solvingenhances the quality and reliability of these crucial Lam systems.

What you'll do
  • Collaborate in the assembly, modification, and troubleshooting of precision robotic systems.
  • Support the design and production of manufacturing jigs and fixtures.
  • Document assembly procedures and collaborate with Manufacturing engineers to mature and optimize the production of early robot prototypes in preparation for high volume manufacturing.
  • Perform testing, check-out, and troubleshooting using schematics, engineering drawings and test procedures.
  • Conduct operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment, help in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
  • Apply high attention-to-detail to the inspection and quality of mechanical assemblies.
  • Support lab operations and engineering R&D activities.
Who we're looking for
  • 3-5 years of related work experience.
  • Firsthand experience with installation, maintenance, repair, testing, or troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal, in English.
  • Proficient in utilizing computer-based data systems, applications, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work a shift schedule.
Preferred qualifications
  • Associates degree, Technical Certificate, Diploma or higher in a technical field.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering, lab operations, or related areas.
  • Familiarity with precision motion components such as linear guides, ball screws, radial bearings, electric motors, encoders, etc.
  • Manual machining and/or welding experience.
  • Manufacturing experience in an R&D or Robotics related setting.
  • Basic use of 3D CAD systems.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $23.56 -$46.63.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
