Position Highlights The Department of Educational Policy Studies & Practice (EPSP) in the College of Education (COE) welcomes applicants for the temporary Outreach Instructional Assistant III positions. We are seeking two highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and experienced assistants to join our dynamic team.

TRIO Upward Bound is a pre-college program that works and prepares high school students to be eligible and prepared for post-secondary education. The Outreach Instructional Assistant IIIs will support Upward Bound TRIO summer programming, summer curriculum, and support students and staff.

The Outreach Instructional Assistant IIIs will lead summer programs, facilitate workshops, coordinate events with community partners, support instructional staff, and assist students with their summer projects.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate sustainable programming for summer and service oriented curriculum.
  • Coordinate the daily operations of the Upward Bound TRIO summer program.
  • Create sustainable reporting for annual progress reports.
  • Research and assess educational needs and interests for targeted public segments involved in the Upward Bound program.
  • Communicate with students and families about program updates. Support with student safety during programming.
  • Coordinate and facilitate workshops.
  • Coordinate small-scale events with community partners.
  • Promotes and fosters lifelong learning and outreach activities for individuals, families, organizations, and communities.
  • Support programming and instructional staff and support students through their summer projects.
  • Support students and families in their transition to post-secondary education as part of the program's scope of work.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Strong communication and organization skills, technology skills, and innovation.
  • Ability to work with the target population and support them in overcoming challenges.
  • Understanding of and ability to embody an asset-based approach to support the target population and community.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
