Position Summary

Trideum Corporation is seeking an Application Engineer focused on digital thread execution, manufacturing application development, and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) advancement for certain robotic equipment and related platforms. This role sits at the intersection of digital engineering, robotic manufacturing, and production deployment that translates customer harness designs into validated, production-ready manufacturing data.

The Application Engineer plays a critical role in standing up and maturing one of the U.S. Government's first automated wiring-harness manufacturing capabilities, supporting development, pilot, and early production environments. The role offers hands-on ownership of digital thread workflows, direct interaction with advanced robotic systems, and the opportunity to drive real manufacturing outcomes that scale from lab to depot and operational use.

This role will provide direct support to our partner, Molrix. Molrix delivers advanced manufacturing systems that integrate robotics, automation, CNC, and digital thread technologies to enable scalable production of wiring harnesses and complex assemblies for defense and industrial customers. Founded to eliminate critical production bottlenecks in manual wiring processes, Molrix focuses on building production-ready, digitally integrated manufacturing capabilities that scale from development to operational use. The team works closely with government, academic, and industry partners to deploy and mature advanced manufacturing systems, emphasizing technical rigor, ownership, and mission-driven execution.

What You'll Do

Digital Thread Ownership



  • Own translation of customer CAD designs into manufacturing-ready data
  • Create and modify models, routings, and build definitions in Siemens NX
  • Maintain configuration control between CAD, tooling, machine parameters, QA, and records
  • Ensure data traceability from design ? machine ? inspection


Manufacturing Applications & Harness Outputs



  • Develop and maintain part programs and build packages for robotic systems
  • Ensure harness outputs meet customer-defined form, fit, function, and quality requirements
  • Support inspection, testing, and nonconformance resolution


MRL & Process Maturity



  • Own and track MRL uplift for harness production workflows
  • Define process capability metrics, repeatability evidence, and documentation maturity
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and acceptance criteria


Travel



  • 25% Continental US, 5% Overseas. Must possess, or obtain within 30 days from hire, a valid U.S. Passport if OCONUS travel is required.


Requirements and Qualifications



  • Engineering Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field
  • 4-7 years in manufacturing engineering, applications engineering, or digital manufacturing environments supporting production or pilot-scale systems
  • Experience with Siemens NX or comparable CAD/CAM tools
  • Experience supporting digital manufacturing or digital thread workflows
  • Hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing equipment
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.


Desired Qualifications



  • Wiring harness or cable assembly background
  • Additive manufacturing or robotic deposition experience
  • MES or PLM exposure
  • Experience supporting defense or government programs
