Overview

LMI is seeking an experienced Clinical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a healthcare client in driving user adoption and change management for a high-impact health IT initiative. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, operational leaders, and government clients-to inform solution design, assess workflows, and develop effective strategies for sustained platform adoption. This role requires a proactive, strategic thinker and leader who is passionate about improving healthcare delivery and stakeholder experience in a government-focused environment.

This position can be supported remotely.

Responsibilities

    Serve as a clinical and government focused Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support programmatic and solution development aligned with client priorities and needs
  • Lead structured discussions with clinical stakeholders, operational teams, and clients to gather insights into workflows, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate clinical perspectives and operational realities into actionable recommendations that inform Human-Centered Design (HCD)-aligned product solutions.
  • Ensure the diverse, real-world perspectives of healthcare providers and frontline users are integrated into solution designs, policy recommendations, and adoption strategies.
  • Support development of comprehensive change management artifacts, including user onboarding materials, training curricula, FAQs, and technical support documentation, to drive sustained platform adoption.
  • Provide hands-on guidance to stakeholders, including training assistance and technical enablement support.
  • Support the development and execution of outreach and engagement plans synchronized with the product roadmap to maximize adoption and minimize friction.
  • Engage in iterative feedback collection using stakeholder engagements and data analytics to identify usage gaps, refine product workflows, and assess the impact of training and outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to generate and refine solutions aligned with federal regulations (e.g., No Surprises Act) and policy priorities.
  • Continually gather and synthesize stakeholder input to ensure the solution evolves and aligns with organizational priorities, operational realities, and mission outcomes.
  • Serve as the clinical policy expert, providing insights and guidance across assigned initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment with federal healthcare regulations and compliance standards during program planning, implementation, and adoption.
  • Manage risks and develop resistance mitigation strategies to ensure successful transitions from legacy systems.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings with client representatives, external stakeholders, and multidisciplinary project teams to address challenges and design solutions effectively.
  • Support the monitoring of task execution, solution adoption, and impact analysis, ensuring milestones are met within aggressive timelines.
  • Represent clinical perspectives in stakeholder-facing engagements, serving as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams.
  • Leverage AI tools and technologies to streamline workflows, improve decision-making, and optimize processes for enhanced productivity and efficiency.


Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field (e.g., NP, PA, MHA, MBA, MPH) or Doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., D.O.).
  • 10+ years of professional experience in healthcare administration, operations, or clinical roles, with a minimum of 2-5 years supporting federal government healthcare programs (e.g., DoD, CMS, etc.).
  • Proven experience implementing and fostering compliance with federal healthcare regulations, such as the No Surprises Act.
  • Experience managing multi-faceted projects within aggressive timelines while balancing competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and presentation abilities for high-stakes audiences.
  • Proficiency in synthesizing complex clinical workflows into actionable recommendations that inform product design and change management strategies.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), along with familiarity with AI-enabled tools for document creation and analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and healthcare providers.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure high-quality execution, production, and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated expertise in structured evidence-based research and quantitative analysis to drive actionable recommendations.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience developing risk mitigation strategies and working directly with clinicians to overcome adoption barriers.
  • Knowledge of Human-Centered Design principles and approaches.

Target salary range: $111,000 - $192,000
