Summary:

Independently and in coordination with paralegals and attorneys, receives, processes, and tracks requests for contracts with physicians and other contractors/vendors, gathers and uploads supporting documentation for compliance purposes, and implements renewals and modifications to, and termination of, existing contracts. Generates regular and special reports on the status of pending and current contracts and responds to requests from contract owners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:


  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • As requested and within training and capabilities, independently review and complete various contracts relevant to business operations and transactions, including but not limited to certain medical director contracts, business associates agreements, non-disclosure agreements, professional service agreements, technology agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Update, develop, and maintain System standards for contract processing, with appropriate variations by contract type.
  • Collegially and respectfully interact and coordinate with team members, contract owners, business stakeholders, lawyers, paralegals, and others in the Legal Department.
  • Suggest revisions for common hospital, physician, and other health care-related contract templates.
  • Participate in regular training and professional development activities as requested to enhance job performance and efficiency of the contracting process.
  • Follow up with contract owners to understand the desired final product.
  • Contact business personnel for supportive documents applicable to the proposed or signed contract and upload them to the contract management system.
  • As applicable, coordinate with assigned attorneys on Fair Market Value consultations when necessary and requested.
  • As relevant and within capabilities, directly interact with contracting parties and/or reach out for necessary information to complete the arrangement.
  • After training, manage the intake, reviewing, processing, and tracking of technology-based contracts, ensuring compliance with System standards.
  • As necessary, diligently utilize technology contract tracker to assist technology counsel through a contract's approval lifecycle, with an emphasis on priority-driven initiatives.
  • Maintain and apply contract management standards and System policies when coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to initiate, review, and finalize legal documents related to healthcare technology.
  • Work cooperatively with business leaders to ensure contracts are executed in a timely manner, including the use of electronic signature systems.
  • Ensure executed contracts and supporting documentation are uploaded and maintained in the contract management system.
  • Facilitate post-execution contract management such as contract amendment and renewal processes.
  • After training, facilitate other stakeholders' compliance with policies, procedures, and standards as promulgated by state and federal agencies, the System, and other regulatory agencies, including the distinction between referral and non-referral source contracts.
  • Protect the confidentiality of proprietary information and of information subject to the attorney-client and work product privileges and exemptions.
  • Use excellent customer service skills, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with all System and local business units.
  • Act as liaison for the Legal Department with internal and external stakeholders to the arrangement.
  • Work on assignments independently, respectfully, and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Operate and meet deadlines in a complex, dynamic, high-pressure environment.
  • Must have excellent analytical, organizational, customer service, collaboration, and written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to prioritize work and pay attention to detail.
  • Builds relationships with key stakeholders, clearly articulates all aspects of projects, understands stakeholders' needs and meets them within policy guidelines.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience

  • 3 years of contracting experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare system, or with some healthcare technology-based contracts, or other translatable experience required
  • Extensive experience processing and tracking contracts through an electronic contract management system, with some experience collaborating with parties to contracts and drafting contract terms required
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Adobe applications required
  • A proven track record of successfully owning, managing, and delivering multiple, concurrent projects, activities, and tasks on time and within scope is required

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

  • None required

In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain the required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame.
