Position Summary

Our Shipping & Receiving Associates are responsible for accurately shipping and receiving product/materials for all plant value streams, and assist with cleaning, measurement and delivery of all plant tooling as needed. Hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. Overtime is expected after training is complete.

Responsibilities

Job Description/Principal Accountabilities

  1. Responsible for the handling and processing of materials into and out of all areas.

  2. Able to operate all equipment in the Shipping/Receiving area.

  3. Able to properly identify the destination of materials being shipped and ensure proper shipping containers are used.

  4. Familiar with receiving methods and be able to interface with other departments to ensure proper receipt and delivery of raw materials throughout the facility including put away in Tool Crib.

  5. Accountable for process, evaluation, measurement, documentation, and improvement on a continual basis to meet business objectives.

  6. Participate in department and area team activities and projects.

  7. Prepare shipping documents (B.O.L. Shipping Manifest, Export Paperwork) as needed.

  8. Accurately invoice shipments on a daily basis. Accurately process receipts on a daily basis.

  9. Assist the Maintenance Department as a back up (as needed) for maintaining, cleaning, measurement and delivery of all manufacturing tooling. Request replacements for out of specification tooling from process engineering department.

  10. Accurately performs plant cycle counting as required by inventory control department.

  11. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Leader.

Qualifications

  1. High School diploma or equivalency required.

  2. Must be able to use personal computers and have a basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and the development and processing of effective e-mails.

  3. Must be able to operate forklift and adhere to safety guidelines.

  4. Must use good judgement and be able to make decisions.

  5. Must be competent in basic mathematical and analytical skills, as well as verbal and written communication.

  6. Must be able to physically move average to heavy weight product/materials when rearranging pallet loads for shipment.

  7. Must have ability to utilize required measuring equipment.

  8. Must be self-motivated, with a high degree of accuracy, and work daily with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands

Our manufacturing positions have several minimum physical requirements to ensure safety and effective job performance, including:

  • Standing: Ability to stand for 8+ hours during a shift.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ability to wear required PPE such as safety shoes, eye protection (glasses/goggles), hearing protection, safety vests, and gloves.
  • Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands for tasks such as using safety scissors, bending tubing, taping tube, and connecting hose assemblies.
  • Sorting: Ability to sort items by size, shape, and color.
  • Physical Movements: Includes pushing, pulling, kneeling, and squatting as part of daily duties.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift up to 45 pounds safely.
  • Sensory Requirements: Must have the ability to perceive color accurately and hear plant paging, alarms, and other important auditory signals.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing plant: Exposure to moving parts on a line, as well as moving equipment throughout the plant.
