*Job Title: Member Services Representative*
*Job Description*The Member Services Representative resolves complex inquiries and complaints while delivering exceptional customer service to health plan members and a wide range of stakeholders. This role responds to questions and concerns from members, prospective members, providers, other insurance carriers, agents and brokers, attorneys, employer groups, and other representatives by phone, in writing, and in person. The position addresses both health plan issues such as medical coverage, claims, referrals, and eligibility, as well as delivery system issues including appointment access, medical center service concerns, physician selection, fee quotes, and patient billing questions. *Responsibilities* * Respond to incoming calls and written inquiries from members, prospective members, providers, employer groups, agents, brokers, attorneys, and other representatives in a high-volume call center environment. * Resolve member complaints and questions related to medical coverage, claims, referrals, and eligibility with accuracy and professionalism. * Address delivery system issues such as appointment access, medical center service complaints, physician selection, fee quotes, and patient billing concerns. * Provide clear, accurate, and timely information about health plan benefits, processes, and policies. * Use strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and determine appropriate resolutions or next steps. * Document interactions and outcomes thoroughly and accurately in the appropriate systems, following established procedures. * Navigate multiple MS Windows applications using dual monitors to research information and support members efficiently. * Collaborate with internal teams and departments as needed to resolve complex member issues and ensure a seamless experience. * Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in member information, benefit explanations, and issue resolution. * Deliver professional, empathetic, and courteous customer service in every interaction, even in challenging or escalated situations. * Adhere to call center performance expectations, including quality, productivity, and adherence metrics. * Follow all applicable guidelines for working within a regulated industry environment such as healthcare or insurance. * Participate fully in all required training, including classroom and nesting periods, and apply learned knowledge to daily work. * Comply with attendance expectations, including calling in by the designated time if late or absent, and observing no time off during training and the initial employment period as specified. * Utilize the Epic system and other tools (with training provided) to access member records, research issues, and document resolutions. * Work assigned shifts within department hours of 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, 7 days a week, including potential weekend shifts as scheduled. *Essential Skills* * At least 1 year of high-volume call center experience. * Prior experience working from home in a call center or similar environment. * Customer service skills with the ability to handle a wide range of member and stakeholder inquiries. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. * Ability to work effectively with dual monitors and multiple MS Windows applications. * High level of attention to detail and accuracy. * Experience working within a regulated industry such as healthcare, insurance, banking, or credit. * Ability to complete and pass required interview assessments and MSCC testing. * High School Diploma or GED. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* * Call center experience in a healthcare or insurance environment is preferred. * Experience providing member support for medical or health plan insurance is preferred. * Comfort using the Epic system or similar electronic systems (training will be provided). * Ability to work independently in a remote setting while remaining engaged and responsive. * Willingness to invest in long-term growth with the team and organization. *Why Work Here?*You join a supportive and collaborative team that is committed to coaching, development, and ongoing guidance so you can grow in your role. The culture emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and mutual support, creating a stable and engaging place to build your career. *Work Environment* This is a remote position based within Washington State, with the expectation that you live close enough to an administrative hub to pick up equipment and go on-site if you experience IT or systems issues. You will pick up your equipment at one of the two hub locations before starting and then work remotely from a private, dedicated workstation where you are not responsible for the care of dependents during your shift. The role is part of a call center environment, with the department operating from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, 7 days a week. Most shifts are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, but you must be open to working one weekend day if assigned (for example, Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday), with the ability to trade shifts with other employees. Training runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and includes approximately three weeks of classroom-style training followed by four weeks of nesting on the floor before you transition to your assigned schedule. No time off is allowed during training and generally within the first 60-90 days. The team uses the Epic system and multiple MS Windows applications, and you will receive full training on all required systems and tools. *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SPOKANE, WA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.62/hr.
