Position Summary

Allan Hancock College is accepting applications to establish a pool of qualified candidates for part-time instructors for the Fall 2026 and future semester.

The teaching assignment will include one or more courses in the Anatomy and Physiology program, such as BIOL 124 and BIOL 125. Courses will be taught in person at the Santa Maria Campus.

Essential Functions and Qualifications

  • Communicate effectively to students orally and in writing while teaching in-person anatomy and/or physiology lectures and labs.
  • Previous experience with successfully teaching anatomy and/or physiology courses at the collegiate level.
  • Experience in teaching labs with models and demonstrating dissections of preserved specimen.
  • Experience with computer-aided data collection systems, such as iWorks, is preferable.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in a field of Biology that includes significant coursework in Human and/or Vertebrate Anatomy and Physiology and/or a related medical field.

SALARY:

* Lecture Rate: $56.46 to $86.44 per hour depending upon education and experience

* Lab Rate: $49.17 to $75.26 per hour depending upon education and experience

* Activity Rate: $36.33 to $56.69 per hour depending upon education and experience
