Job Summary The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking a Lab Manager II to join our team of professionals Duties: Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations including scheduling, coordination of experiments, and supervision of research staff and trainees Maintains laboratory organization, ensuring appropriate inventory levels of reagents, consumables, and supplies. Manages laboratory purchasing and vendor relationships while tracking expenses and budgets. Coordinates maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory instruments and equipment. Oversee Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) compliance including chemical inventories, safety training records, waste disposal, and laboratory inspections. Assists in preparation, submission, and maintenance of regulatory documentation including IBC, IRB, and IACUC protocols as applicable. Serves as laboratory safety coordinator and ensures adherence to biosafety procedures. Performs or oversees cell culture, tissue processing, and molecular biology assays including but not limited to PCR/qPCR, immunostaining, and histological analyses. Maintains organized laboratory records, protocols, and standard operating procedures. Trains laboratory personnel and students in cell culture, sterile technique, laboratory safety, and experimental methods. Assists investigators with preparation of research reports, manuscripts, and grant submissions. Compiles data summaries and maintains accurate experimental records. Ensures proper storage and handling of biological materials and reagents. Coordinates laboratory logistics related to collaborative research projects. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
