Job Description

Kearney and Company is seeking a CMDB Deployment Lead to join our growing team! The CMDB Deployment Lead will be responsible for overseeing all Configuration Management Database (CMDB) capabilities, integrations, sustainment operations, and continuous improvement activities for client specific DoW enterprise financial systems. This leader drives adoption and expansion of the CMDB platform, ensuring accurate visibility into system hardware, software, services, and configuration items (CIs). The role ensures that the CMDB remains a reliable source of truth supporting audit readiness, external audit, enterprise risk management, IT service management workflows, and operational decisionmaking. Responsibilities include onboarding systems, maturing automation and integrations, improving dashboarding and analytics, and coordinating compliance and audit remediation. Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead overall CMDB solution management including capability support, integration, and operational sustainment.
  • Oversee onboarding of systems into the CMDB, maintain the onboarding roadmap, and coordinate waiver/deferral assessments and remediation.
  • Manage CMDB data population and maintenance efforts, ensuring data quality, integrity, automation, and accuracy across configuration items.
  • Direct updates to dashboards, metrics, and integrated risk/portfolio management functions to support system health, risk visibility, and reporting.
  • Provide training, user support, adoption materials, demonstrations, and user acceptance testing to drive successful CMDB utilization.
  • Oversee operational support activities including user permissions, defect resolution, release management, security monitoring, and reporting.
  • Lead enhancements and integrations with automation platforms, data sources, and related systems to improve CMDB functionality and reduce manual effort.
  • Support audit remediation, compliance reviews, configuration control, and documentation updates to align with policies, security frameworks, and audit requirements.
  • Manage reporting, coordination, and stakeholder engagement across governance bodies and crossfunctional teams
  • Support audit remediation efforts and ensure compliance with DoW and client policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, IT Management, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience managing CMDB platforms, IT asset management systems, or configuration management environments.
    • At least 2 years of federal or DoW experience.
  • CMDB relevant certification (e.g., ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Data Foundations, CISSP, CISA, CISM, Security+, ITIL)
  • Strong understanding of ITIL/ITSM practices and CMDB data models.
  • Experience leading enterprise onboarding, system integration, data quality programs, and configuration item lifecycle management.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with system owners, technical service providers, and senior leadership.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing large-scale IT projects and teams.
  • Strong knowledge of FISMA, NIST standards, DoD cybersecurity policies, and audit readiness requirements.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Active Secret clearance (minimum), with ability to obtain TS/SCI if required
  • Ability to travel up to 25% (as required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the DoW financial systems, cloud, and network operations.
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB, including integrations, Discovery, and Service Graph Connectors.
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks, audit requirements, and IT general controls.
  • Expertise in automation, scripting, or data transformation pipelines.
  • Experience with dashboarding platforms and analytics tools.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

The expected salary range for this position is between $103,000 and $180,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
