BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE DEVELOPER

What you'll do.

As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will play an important role in empowering the organization through data. You will craft dynamic, user-friendly Power BI datasets, dashboards, and reports that turn complex information into clear, actionable insights for teams across the company. In this hands-on position, you'll dive into exploratory analysis, data modeling, and innovative experimentation to continuously enhance BI solutions and drive smarter decision-making. Your work will bridge technical expertise with business collaboration, championing a culture of self-service analytics and streamlining reporting processes to maximize organizational impact.

What we look for.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Sociology, Data Analytics or related field is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years' proven experience in building Power BI dashboards, data models, and reports is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold the AAN's values is required.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and MS Fabric or other cloud data warehouses are required.
  • Proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M language) is required.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences are required.
  • Experience in a project-driven environment is required.
  • Ability to navigate and operate effectively in ambiguous situations, developing clarity and direction as the data reporting and data science program evolves is required.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams at varying levels of management, data literacy, and technical proficiency to drive adoption of data analytics program activities is required.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage stakeholders, address challenges, and foster a culture of data literacy and analytics are required.
  • Ability to be self-driven and work independently, with a proactive approach to learning and taking on new challenges as well as successfully in teams is required.
  • Strong analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual critical thinking skills are required.
  • Familiarity with Python or R for light analytics and modeling is preferred.
  • Understanding of basic machine learning concepts and statistical methods is preferred.

Relevant education and/or experience exceeding the required qualifications may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required - up to 5%.

Location: Minneapolis, MN and is identified as primarily remote (ability to work remotely but required to work in the office as needed or requested).

Schedule: Rarely beyond standard work schedule required.
