Entry-Level Data Center Technician (Contract-to-Hire) About the Role We're hiring Entry-Level Data Center Technicians for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This role is ideal for individuals coming from construction, trades, manufacturing, or warehouse environments who are looking to break into the growing data center and IT infrastructure industry. This position is based in an active data center build / construction-style environment, so candidates must be comfortable working in a physical setting and being on their feet for most of the day. No prior data center experience is required; we're looking for hands-on, dependable, and motivated individuals who want to learn and grow in this space. What You'll Do * Work in an active construction-site-type environment inside a data center * Perform basic data center tasks such as racking and stacking equipment * Assist with running, labeling, and organizing cables * Support equipment installs, removals, and inventory tracking * Follow safety procedures, site rules, and PPE requirements * Work closely with senior technicians and site leads * Remain on your feet for extended periods during the workday All technical training is provided on-site. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications: * Background in construction, trades, warehouse, manufacturing, or similar hands-on roles * Comfortable working in a construction-style environment * Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift * Reliable attendance and strong work ethic * Willingness to learn and take direction * Able to lift up to ~50 lbs * Basic computer skills (email, simple documentation) Nice to Have (Not Required): * Experience using hand tools or working on job sites * Interest in IT, technology, or data centers * OSHA 10/OSHA 30 or other safety certifications Work Environment & Expectations * Construction-site-style data center environment * Long periods on your feet * Indoor industrial setting (not an office role) * Safety-conscious workspace with PPE requirements * Monday-Saturday * 1st Shift * 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or * 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM (depending on the day) * Must be willing to work either * 58-hour work week (consistent overtime) Why This Role? * Excellent entry point into the data center and IT industry * Hands-on technical experience with clear career growth opportunities * Contract-to-hire path into a full-time, permanent role * Learn in-demand skills used across data centers nationwide * Stable industry with long-term career potential Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
