Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. The production technician is responsible for maintaining plant production, operating efficiency, regulatory compliance, and safety. Due to the complexity of the skill sets needed for this position, Production Technician levels have been established to distinguish work performance capabilities and the degree of independence each task is to be performed.

Job Duties:

  • Demonstrate an overall understanding of plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies/procedures

  • Cultivate a shared safety culture by being safety minded; champions good safety practices.

  • Work safely in all situations

  • Identify potential maintenance needs; enter them into the work order maintenance management system (Maximo)

  • Perform all work in alignment with standard operating and maintenance procedures, utilizing current Life Safety Training skills and safety requirements including safe work permits, energy control isolation and IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, plant safety inspections, etc.

  • Support contractors, visitors, co-workers and others in following company safety policies/procedures. Issues safe work permit documentation and performs lock-out tag-out of equipment

  • Acquire knowledge and proficiency in all plant operations including processes and equipment

  • Demonstrate a strong interest in and aptitude for instrumentation and mechanics

  • Become proficient in and uphold standard operating procedures (SOPs), corporate procedures; read and interpret blueprints, flow charts, process piping ISOs, simple schematics, P&IDs, electrical schematics; perform basic math operations

  • Keep accurate records and be diligent in documentation and record retention policies and procedures

  • Ideally, you bring a knowledge and understanding of control board and operator interface computer consoles

  • Perform operator rounds, water samples, truck loading, operations PM's

  • Foster and take pride in high housekeeping and organizational standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Management

  • All other duties based on business needs

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 2+ years of technical training or operations experience

  • Knowledge/understanding of instrumentation, rotating equipment and piping systems

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management, EPA regulations, FDA regulations, state/local regulations)

  • Knowledge in the proper methods of locking out and isolating equipment

  • Ability to use computers-knowledge of Microsoft Office software

  • Ability to work in a team environment; demonstrated self motivated attitude

  • Good verbal/written communication skills in order to deal effectively with management and external customers

  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and possibly holidays in order to meet shift and on-call requirements

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical Associates degree preferred

  • Qualified in operation of the forklift, man lift and overhead crane is preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing

  • Full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Able to climb ladders, work off elevated platforms/surfaces

  • Able to work in non-conditioned environment for extended periods

  • Able to enter confined spaces for inspection, testing and work
