Summary:
The Administrator of Mid Coast Senior Health oversees and is responsible for the leadership and management of skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living and memory care units. The Administrator in conjunction with the Senior Director of Post Acute Operations develops/implements the strategic plan, oversees marketing, and is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and directing the quality of care and customer service provided to all senior living services customers.

The Administrator serves in a leadership role to the staff, as a resource to the residents, and as a liaison to community partners and contracted agencies. The Administrator is responsible for adhering to all regulations governing the operation of skilled nursing facilities, long-term care nursing homes, and senior residential housing facilities including assisted living and memory care. The Administrator is an integral member of the management of MaineHealth Post Acute Division and responsible for public relations and achieving financial goals.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Masters Degree in health related field.
  2. License/Certifications: Maine license as a Multi-Level Administrator required.
  3. Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in healthcare management
  4. Affiliation with Professional Associations recommended - Maine Health Care Association, LeadingAge, American College of Health Care Administrators, Pioneer Network, and Advancing Excellence in America's Nursing Homes.
  5. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, employees, customers and/or boards of directors.
  6. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  7. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
