Position Description: Has a lead role in overseeing the Procurement activities within the region, and participates in shaping and communicating policy review/revisions and companywide risk management.

Reports to: General Manager or Senior Vice President

Essential Duties & Responsibilities*:


  • Maintain a direct and regular interface with the Headquarters Procurement Group (Chief Procurement Officer and Director of Procurement).
  • Participate in monthly Regional Procurement Manager (RPM) conference calls.
  • Be an active participant and/or lead various RPM subcommittees (ad hoc).
  • Contribute to the review and recommendation of the Procurement policy updates.
  • Participate in and lead educational material and reference material updating and communication (eg. Turner Knowledge Network (TKN) Procurement Site).
  • Work with Headquarter (HQ) Procurement and other RPMs to establish national standards of practice.
  • Work with, train, be a resource for and be the first point of contact for the Procurement Managers within the region.
  • Be aware of all work within the region and the concentration of risk within the local and regional subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Work on leverage buying power and risk mitigation risks across the region involving the resources of the other RPMs and HQ Procurement Group as/if/when needed.
  • Take ownership with and interface with national suppliers located in the region.
  • Schedule regular monthly conference call meetings with Procurement Managers within the region. Communicate information from a national perspective.
  • Engage as collaborator on all Procurement staff's performance reviews.
  • Engage SVP and GMs within the region to communicate Procurement activity regionally and nationally.

Qualifications: This role would be appropriate for the most senior, experienced Procurement Manager within a given region. Communications and leadership skills are essential qualifications for this role.

Physical Demands: Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction and the operation of onsite vehicles. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires the use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in the main office, project office or trailer setting. At times the employee will need to attend meetings at the job site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments are usually moderate to very loud.
