This posting is for proactive recruitment purposes and may be used to fill current openings or future vacancies within our organization.

Summary of the role:

Short-form video has become the fastest way to build credibility with a professional audience and Thomson Reuters has the expertise to own that space. This role isn't about repurposing press releases into Reels. It's about building a sharper, bolder video identity for Thomson Reuters, one that makes complex legal ideas feel relevant, accessible, and share worthy.

We are looking for a Short Form Video Content Creator who is a creative director and storyteller across platforms. You know how to take a subject matter expert who has never been on camera and turn them into a recurring voice that an audience looks forward to watching You move fast, you test constantly, and you understand the difference between content that performs and content that just exists. You will own Thomson Reuters Legal short-form video presence end-to-end for our organic social channels, from ideation to publishing to performance. This is a new role for Thomson Reuters and will be part of the organic social media team.

About the Role:

  • Own TikTok content strategy and production end-to-end: ideation, scripting, filming, editing, publishing, performance analysis
  • Produce Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts as derivative content from TikTok or as standalone pieces
  • Develop a TR Legal video content identity - what does TR look like on TikTok? (Think: "legal myth-busting," "AI in law explained in 60 seconds," "day in the life of a CoCounsel power user")
  • Create and test creative for ChatGPT native ads - this is new territory for everyone; this person needs to be curious and experimental, not precious about formats
  • Work with the Events Specialist and Marketing teams to capture event footage and turn it into short-form content within 24 hours
  • Build a bench of internal TR subject matter experts (lawyers, product leaders, researchers) who are comfortable on camera and develop them as recurring on-screen talent
  • Manage a content production calendar with a minimum cadence of 3-5 short-form videos per week across platforms

About You:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in video content creation, with a strong portfolio of short form social video work across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn, or YouTube Shorts
  • Expert-level video editing skills using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or Final Cut Pro, with a strong eye for pacing, design, and storytelling
  • Deep understanding of short form video platform algorithms, trends, and best practices, with the ability to translate these into a B2B brand context
  • Experience working with and directing on-camera talent, including executives and subject matter experts
  • Strong creative ideation skills with the ability to translate complex topics into compelling, digestible video content
  • Proven ability to manage multiple video projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to influence creative direction and contribute to a broader social media strategy
