Hours: Day Shift, 40 Hours Per Week

Shift: Mon-Fri-6:00am-2:30pm

Location: St. Petersburg, FL

Position Summary:



  • The laboratory histotechnologist performs analytical procedures independently and participates in technical activities of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
  • Provides slides for the cases to the Pathologist for review, ensuring quality by following section and department policies and procedures.
  • Provides recommendations to leadership about opportunities for improvement.
  • Employees that are successful in the role possess high attention to detail and can be relied upon for dependable and consistent work output.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education:



  • Associates Degree as required for Florida State License


Experience:



  • 3 years' experience in a histology laboratory
  • Clinical Laboratory Histotechnologist License from the State of Florida (OR)
  • Clinical Laboratory Histotechnician License from the State of Florida with 5 years of relevant experience


  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity necessary to prepare specimens and perform clinical and microscopic analyses
  • Knowledge and proficient with computers, automated instruments, and mechanical apparatus

Salary Range: Minimum 30.64/hour - Maximum 49.02/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
