Position Overview The Consumer Loan Specialist role focuses on back-end loan servicing and processing, supporting frontline teams by managing post-origination loan changes and providing full support for loan product claims, purchases, and cancellations. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate loan maintenance while delivering a high-quality internal and member experience. Key Responsibilities * Support the Consumer Loan Servicing team in achieving departmental goals * Process bankruptcy-related account maintenance, including filing notifications, proofs of claim, reaffirmations, and related requests * Prepare documentation and update loan records for approved changes such as modifications, balloon payments, and extension agreements * Communicate and coordinate with third-party partners regarding bankruptcies, product claims, purchases, and cancellations * Provide timely guidance and problem-solving support to frontline departments via email and Microsoft Teams * Review, sort, and file on-site mail related to document imaging * Answer questions regarding loan products, policies, and procedures * Collaborate with team members to deliver the best possible member experience * Meet or exceed established service level standards Required Qualifications * Experience in financial services, preferably in a back-office or loan servicing environment * Experience as a bank teller, loan clerk, or similar role * Strong understanding of loan servicing processes * Proficient computer skills, ideally including Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite * Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications * Experience supporting insurance-related loan products * Exposure to loan product servicing, claims, or cancellations Soft Skills & Competencies * Quick learner with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment * Demonstrates initiative and accountability * Self-sufficient and able to manage tasks independently * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Vernon Hills, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
