Department of Marketing within the Trulaske College of Business at University of Missouri

Job Description

Applications are invited for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor of Marketing. This non-tenure-track faculty position is housed in the Department of Marketing within the Trulaske College of Business at University of Missouri. The anticipated start date is August 2026, or another mutually agreed-upon date.

Responsibilities include teaching multiple undergraduate courses in marketing, with an emphasis on large-section Principles of Marketing, as well as courses such as Services Marketing, Sales, Digital Marketing, and related areas based on departmental needs and supervising graduate teaching assistants assigned to large-section course.

The successful candidate will report to the Chair of the Department of Marketing and will contribute to the missions of the department and the college through service activities. These may include serving on departmental and college committees, mentoring students pursuing careers in marketing, supporting faculty in certificate programs, and advising student organizations as appropriate. The role also involves engaging with industry partners to strengthen relationships between the department and the business partners.

Qualifications

Minimum:
* MBA degree or a Master's degree in Marketing
* Industry experience in marketing, sales, or digital marketing

Candidates will be evaluated on the following criteria:
* Earned highest degree in marketing or a closely related field.
* Demonstrated effectiveness in prior teaching, particularly at the undergraduate level.
* Interest in and ability to teach large-section Principles of Marketing course, as well as other marketing courses aligned with departmental needs.
* Relevant industry experience in areas such as marketing, sales, or digital marketing.
* Ability to engage with industry partners and develop meaningful collaborations that support the department's mission.
