KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Intern to join our KPMG Law practice.
Responsibilities:
  • Assisting attorneys in reviewing and analyzing various legal documents, such as commercial contracts and corporate governance materials
  • Contributing to legal research and monitoring developments in the legal and regulatory environment to ensure contracts and services remain compliant; supporting legal managed services engagements, which may involve high-volume contract review, contract data extraction and contract lifecycle management tasks
  • Manage the formation, registration and dissolution of domestic and international entities, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional requirements
  • Draft and maintain corporate documents including bylaws, operating agreements, resolutions and meeting minutes for boards and committees; coordinate and file annual reports, business licenses and other regulatory filings to maintain good standing across jurisdictions
  • Collaborating with diverse teams of professionals within KPMG Law and across KPMGs broader network, including international member firms
  • Acting with integrity, professionalism and personal responsibility to uphold KPMGs respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelors degree; applicants must demonstrate an intention to enroll in and complete a JD or LLM program
  • Upon completion of this internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements (if applicable)
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Experience working in professional services environment, Big 4 Public Accounting or KPMG Law experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) and a willingness to adopt new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI); ability to learn and navigate legal technologies such as AI, Alteryx and Power BI
  • Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking and legal research skills; excellent communication (written and verbal), time management and leadership skills; a flexible and adaptable team player; resourceful in delivering high-quality work; ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage assignments in a team environment
  • Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation; ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice
