Job Title: Plant Maintenance Planning Supervisor

Location: Calumet City, IL

Type: Direct Hire

Salary: $87,800 - $117,000 + 6% annual bonus

Job Summary

We are seeking a Plant Maintenance Planning Supervisor to lead maintenance planning, scheduling, and inventory control in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maximizing equipment uptime, workforce efficiency, and maintenance performance through effective use of SAP and CMMS systems.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Scheduling (70%)



  • Plan and schedule maintenance activities using SAP/CMMS to reduce downtime
  • Manage MRO inventory and spare parts programs (min/max levels, critical spares)
  • Create detailed work orders with defined scope, labor, materials, and cost estimates
  • Coordinate contractor services and maintenance resources
  • Lead scheduling meetings with operations to prioritize work and optimize downtime windows
  • Ensure compliance with PSM, safety, and environmental standards
  • Track and report KPIs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Maintain and update preventive maintenance (PM) plans
  • Prepare job kits and ensure all materials/resources are available before execution


Supervision (30%)



  • Supervise maintenance mechanics and shift teams (up to 8 direct reports)
  • Develop schedules, manage overtime, and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBA)
  • Support safety programs including LOTO and behavioral-based safety (BBS)
  • Monitor team performance and support maintenance objectives



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering OR
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing (chemical/refinery preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, and inventory management
  • Experience with SAP and CMMS systems
  • Understanding of production equipment and maintenance processes
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office



Work Environment



  • Manufacturing/industrial setting supporting continuous operations
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators
