Job Summary

The ECT Coordinator/TMS Technician is responsible for sustaining an environment of intrinsic goodwill for the practice while providing optimum services to patients.
This ECT Coordinator/TMS Technician position functions as the coordinator of the Electroconvulsive Therapy Program and assists with providing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to patients. Additional functions include answering telephones, scheduling appointments, prior authorizations, and Epic work queues.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload a license and/or certification if required for the position

  • American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR Certification
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience/training
  • 1+ year experience in a healthcare setting, particularly with psychiatric treatments
  • Completion of training certificates for current Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) machines within 6 months of hire
  • Must be able to perform all responsibilities as required and assigned by department leadership
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills and the ability/willingness to learn additional computer programs and systems (i.e., email, Excel, Word, MS. Office, etc.)
  • Advanced judgement skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with hospital staff in a clear, concise, professional manner
  • Skill in organizing written material
  • Knowledge of appropriate information required for patient and supply record keeping
  • Skills and ability to work in stressful situations
  • Tact and diplomacy skills
  • Ability to provide and accept guidance and criticism
  • Leadership skills
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of email, Excel, Word, and the ability/willingness to learn additional computer programs and systems
  • Must see well enough to observe patient reactions and read relevant monitors, relevant device settings, and relevant written information such as the patient medial record
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environment
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintain professionalism, and handle difficult or stressful situations
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Outpatient Psychiatry or Behavioral Health Clinic
  • Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) experience or knowledge
  • Experience in data collection, organization, and reporting
  • Experience in the coordination of benefits and authorizations
  • Knowledge of authorizations and referral process
