TITLE: HR Manager

LOCATION: Hybrid in Lombard IL On average 3 days a week

COMP RANGE: $120,000 - $150,000/year plus bonus

Custom Culinary, a subsidiary of Griffith Foods, is hiring an HR Manager to support the Custom Culinary subsidiary, which has a total employee population of approximately 175, including two manufacturing sites - in Oswego, IL and Avon, OH - and corporate, sales, culinary, and other professionals at our Lombard, IL office.

In this role, you will be a true business partner: both strategic and hands-on. You will help co-create and drive all strategic imperatives to ensure leadership manages and develops its talent, understands collective bench strength, facilitates talent movement, and coordinates succession planning at all levels with mindfulness to diversity and inclusion initiatives, while also directing the execution of day-to-day HR activities across Custom Culinary.

This is your opportunity to serve on the Custom Culinary Leadership Team and serve as a key advisor to the President of Custom Culinary by influencing workforce planning and talent strategy, leadership effectiveness and succession planning, organizational design and change management, as well as culture, engagement, and retention.

As an HR Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leads and manages 2 HR direct reports at the two manufacturing facilities and consults and advises them on routine employee relations and discipline matters, in collaboration with in-house Legal Department

  • Partners with senior leadership to define and translate the specific business needs into HR priorities

  • Drives the talent agenda by managing the development and performance of a team regarding standardization and execution of routine HR services such as employee relations, talent management and development, succession planning, performance management, compensation, and recruiting activities

  • Reviews and analyzes HR data to drive solutions aligned with HR priorities

  • Lead talent strategy for Custom Culinary, including succession planning for senior leadership roles, assessment and selection of key talent, and development of diverse leadership pipelines

  • Drive organization design and workforce planning decisions that align structure, roles, and capabilities to evolving business needs

  • Steward and shape Custom Culinary culture in alignment with enterprise values and performance expectations, holding leaders accountable for engagement, inclusion, and behavioral standards

  • Use financial, workforce, and talent analytics to diagnose organizational health, identify risk, and present clear, data driven recommendations to the Custom Culinary Leadership Team

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Organization Development, I/O Psychology, or related field

  • At least 7 years' progressive experience in HR as a Generalist/HRBP within a manufacturing environment

  • Experience and exposure to employee relations, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, organizational design, talent management, and development

  • Previous experience as a team lead, supervisor, or manager of other HR professionals, including demonstrated leadership, coaching and development

  • Willingness to be onsite 3 days a week in Lombard, Illinois, plus monthly rotational travel to Oswego and Avon facilities.

  • Willingness and ability to travel within the US, especially to the Avon, OH facility, as needed for business purposes

  • Candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role

What will set you apart:

  • Experience with Workday HCM system

  • Bilingual in Spanish

  • MBA or Master's degree in HR, Industrial Labor Relations, or a related field

  • SPHR certificate

This role is affiliated to the Lombard IL locations, and candidates for this role need to reside within a commutable distance of that location and will be required to come into that location approx. 3 days/week. You may be asked to travel to other locations periodically for meetings, including monthly rotational travel to Oswego, IL and Avon, OH facilities. Please note that, during onboarding and or to lead performance management, additional onsite or travel days may be needed.
