Material Handler I, Manufacturing Support - Skilled

Job Title: Material Handler I
Location: Bloomington MN 55437
Duration: 6-month Contract with potential for extension
9:00 - 5:30 pm shift

Job Description:
*Under Direct supervision, handles and maintains flow of materials and products in manufacturing areas according to established guidelines.
*Provides information for recording movement of incoming and outgoing materials and supplies.
*May operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.
*This position requires knowledge that is acquired through experience, specialized education or training.
*The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision making.
*Technical knowledge required is limited to the tasks performed in own discipline area and is considered basic.
*The tasks are generally routine and manual.
*The job is expected to follow detailed and defined rules / instructions and to make simple judgement in straightforward situations. Typically requires selecting between solutions already established.
*Working within 3 teams
*Open boxes from UPS and scan parts into ERP system
*Make sure parts match number
*Need strong attentional to detail
*Put away about 10,000 parts across all teams in their building
*Part of 5 person team
*Nothing is hand written or hand scanned; need to use scanner through system
*Very high volume
*Need to be an individual worker and focused/driven
*Converting to new ERP system in a few months
*Must wear comfortable shoes; usually log 15k+ steps a day so need to be active and able to be physical
*Won't be lifting heavy boxes, at most 50 lbs
*No PPE requirement outside of long pants and close toed & close heeled shoes
